Meghan Barker presented on the efforts that stopped the proposed Pebble mine in 2020 and that now work to permanently protect Bristol Bay, Alaska. Meghan talked about fishing in southwest Alaska, the history and current status of the mine, and how TU is leading efforts to ensure Pebble doesn't come back in the future. Bio: Meghan Barker is the Bristol Bay Organizer for Trout Unlimited based in Anchorage, Alaska. Meghan works to spread the word about the threat of Pebble to anglers and fishing businesses in the Lower 48, and is rallying supporters to advance permanent protection for the southwest region of Alaska. Outside of work, Meghan can be found fishing, running or skiing in Southcentral Alaska. Meghan is a 2017 graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
